baby shower invites

My cousin Sonia is due in late January or early February.  She is having a baby girl, Coral! :-)  Erika and I are throwing her a baby shower.  I put myself in charge of invitations.  I really, really wanted to make them for her.  I went through a long process until I finally came up with the final draft.

I first drew something, which you can see on the right.  It has a rattle and flower and says, "it's a girl"... but then I thought that maybe is something you say for after the baby has been born, right?  LOL  So then I typed something up for the invite and printed on some thick, wallpaper-like paper, which you can see in the middle.  But the writing just didn't show up.  So then, finally, I printed it out on plain cardstock and decided I would pretty it up around the wording.

My mom totally helped me out!  I decided that flowers would be really cute with petals in all different colors and patterns of my thick paper (it's for scrapbooking.)  So we cut a million little petals from select paper.
One that was half way done.  We needed more design.
Some finished products amongst the chaos that was my dining room table LOL
Sealed and ready to send!

Weekend trip

Last weekend I went to visit Natalie in Sacramento and have a lazy hang out weekend together just like we used to when we were roommates.  I brought Kyle with me visit his auntie! :-)

Before we left, Robert took a picture of us travelers.

It was actually a super gorgeous day out and as I drove I took a couple of pictures.

Kyle dancing with natalie while the pregnant man spoke in the background LOL

Big kiss!

more high chair

High Chair

Kyle is loving his new high chair that his Grandma Campos gave him for our baby shower.  It's super cute and Kyle loves being in it!  Now that he has started eating actual food, it makes breakfast, lunch, and dinner-time so easy and cute :-)
First time sitting in the chair.  So cute!

When I feed him, he has to help.  He's so independent!

He's like a little ruler LOL

I just love the expression on his face :-)

Veteran's Day was great because Robert and I both had the day off.  We started the day with some take-out breakfast from the HMB Coffee Company and pretty much had a really low-key day. :-)

Kyle giving Robert a Happy Veteran's Day hug :-)
Doesn't he have gorgeous eyes?!
Happy Kyle in his cute car!

He sticks his tongue out ALL the time now.  It's his new thing.  Although in this picture it looks more like he has really red lips, but it's just him sticking the tip of his tongue out :-)

crazy knitter

I have become obsessed with knitting.  I always do around this time of year since it starts getting colder.  Since I have learned to understand knitting patterns it's become so much more fun.  I usually  only do, as my Abuelita taught me, two separate variations of derecho y reves, or knit and purl.  One row knit, next row purl, alternating.  Or, I would do a sort of braid type stitch, which I did on the green scarf above.  Now, I have learned a couple of new patterns!  The hat on the left is made with a basketweave stitch and I am working on a cable knit hat, which is on the right.  I love adding new things to my repertoire!

Daddy and Baby play time

Rice Cereal

We had started giving Kyle baby food a couple of months ago and since he started getting a little rash on his tummy, Dr. Easter told us that we should hold off since it was kind of early and he didn't want Kyle to develop food allergies.  We have started again!  This time with some delicious rice cereal :-)

After his yummy breakfast

Kyle with a freshly-woken-up mommy.

We'll re-start giving him sweet potatoes and bananas next.  Can't wait! :-)

Halloween night!

Last night Robert, Kyle and I went over to Debbie and Kit's house for Halloween.  We ate pizza and watched a scary movie while Debbie and Kit handed out candy to all the adorable kids that came to the door.  Kyle was in his costume but started getting too warm so we stripped him down to his diaper and was he happy! :-)

We had a great time  :-)
