First steps... first words!

Kyle turned 1 and all of a sudden, he is doing all kinds of developing!  On Sunday, a week and a day after his birthday, he walked about 5 steps!  Then, the very next day, he crawled over to Suzy and went to pet her and I said, "Kyle, say 'Hi, kitty!'"  and all of a sudden, he looked at the cat and said, "Hiiiii kiki!"  It's the cutest!  Later that day, I caught him picking up his shoe and trying to put it on his foot.  It's so amazing to watch him grow!

He's in!

Robert has been accepted into the Police Academy!  He starts in September and I'm SO proud of him!

Kyle's 1!

Yesterday was Kyle's 1st birthday!  We had a fun party at our house yesterday full of food, cake, sun, and swim!

Kyle wore his special sailor suit that his Grandpa Campos bought for him before he was even conceived!  :-)

Doesn't he look so cute?!?!
My cousin Sonia bought Kyle a kiddy pool and my cousin Erika bought Kyle a slide!  It is a perfect gift since we have a great backyard for those kinds of things and it was also perfect for yesterday as it was a HOT day for HMB!
Kyle LOVED it!  He and Elena were splashing around and screaming with joy.  Everyone was just watching and it was so entertaining!
Kyle hadn't opened his presents yet (where he received two pairs of swim trunks) so he was wearing some shorts over his diaper!  It's so funny because since both of them were wearing diapers, they had HUGE bottoms since the gel in the diapers absorbs all the water hehe

My mom made Kyle's birthday cakes.  She made a big one that was for everyone to eat and a small one that was just for Kyle to get his hands into!
I drew a little monkey on the cakes and my mom colored them in with frosting.
He LOVED his cake!

The aftermath:
After cake, we stayed outside and opened up Kyle's presents.  He got so many cute clothes and some really fun toys.  Since he had just had cake then gotten back into the pool, he opened presents in his birthday suit!

Grandpa Campos was able to make it to the birthday party, which was so much fun.  We had a really good visit with him :-)

I just can't believe that a year has passed since he was born.  I can remember the MOMENT he was born and I just know that I'll remember it for the rest of my life.  Since he was born at 10:19AM, Robert and I had a champagne toast at that exact time yesterday.  Can't wait for more birthdays!

Kyle's getting big!

Kyle is getting SO big!  He has two bottom teeth completely grown in, and then four others growing in all at the same time.  His dracula teeth are growing in LOL and two bottom ones.  He is also SO close to walking it's unbelievable.

He will be 1 year old on Saturday and it's so crazy to me!  This first year went by SO quickly and he has grown to be this handsome little boy with a cute giggle and great sense of humor.  He is so curious about the world and the people around him.  When we go out for walks or to the store or to restaurants, Kyle waves at everyone.  A couple of days ago, we were at our local breakfast diner, Sam's Coffee Shop, and this old WWII veteran entered the restaurant and as he walked slowly past Kyle, Kyle stuck his hand out-not in a wave, but as if to shake the man's hand.  And they did.  It was really a cute moment.

We are having a birthday party at our house this coming Saturday and it is a monkey themed party!  There will be other babies and little kids coming over to celebrate and I will take tons of pictures! :-)  Can't wait to see him stick his hands in his first birthday cake!

1st Mother's Day!

This past Sunday was my first Mother's Day!  In the morning I went to my Aunt Lupe and Uncle Tim's house for brunch.  My cousins Erika and Sonia were also there with their daughters, Elena and Coral.  This was Erika's 2nd Mother's Day and Sonia's 1st.

It was really fun exchanging cards with everyone and getting flowers from Robert (roses), my dad (sunflowers), my mom (hydrandreas), my cousin Erika (tulips) and my cousin Vanessa (don't know what they're called, but they're yellow and cute!)  Robert had to work all day but we planned to go to Shiki Sushi afterwards.  Well, time passed by and it was too late for Shiki.  So, we had a lovely dinner at home consisting of Round Table Pizza, half veggie gourmet and half smokehouse pepperoni.

Natalie's Bridal Shower

Natalie had her bridal shower on May 2.  It was a lovely affair at her aunt's house in Burlingame and a good time was had by all :-)  Most of all by Natalie!  She is getting married on July 25 and I am her maid of honor.  I am so excited and happy for her.  She is my best friend for the past 10 years and has become like a sister to me.
Lingerie from her mom!
Kyle was the only boy at the party and all the girls wanted to hold him!  He fell asleep soon after this picture was taken.
I gave Natalie the whole set of these adorable outdoor plates!
I was making her rehearsal bouquet out of all the ribbons, flowers, bows, and crepe paper that came on the gifts!  I loved doing that!

sitting pretty :-)
