Gone hiking!

On Sunday we decided to take Kyle for his first hike!  We went into Higgins Purissima Canyon (where I grew up) and hiked on the Higgins Purissima trail.  It was an absolutely gorgeous day outside and probably would've been really hot during the hike if we hadn't been shielded from the sun by all the trees over us.  It was so beautiful out there!  Even though I grew up with the same scenery, it took moving away from it for me to appreciate it the way I do now.

We got Kyle into his hiking outfit: shorts outfit, hat, socks (shoes would fall off of him with his little legs dangling) and a sweater.

When we got to the trail, we put him in the baby backpack.  He was so cute!
We practiced at home before we left.  Kyle was taste testing the backpack LOL

Kyle was really curious and really taking everything in as we walked.  He was looking up to the tops of the trees and looking towards the stream that was running loudly just parallel to us.  He started getting more and more tired and it was hilarious because the sleepier he got, the more slouched down he got!

Up right...

  A little lower....
 Lower....

 Face leaning on the backpack....
A tiny bit lower....

Face is hidden now....

View from the under the pack LOL  He's asleep!!

Loved seeing his legs swinging with each of Robert's strides :-)

This was the only way to have us all by in the picture... Kyle is represented by his pacifier :-)

Nothing big has been going on lately.  We're both just working and taking care of Kyle; which is a lot of fun :-)
Here are some pictures we took in the past couple of days.  Kyle is so big now.  He weighs about 15 pounds, he has started laughing-not just a giggle here and there, but a full on crack up!  Especially if you play peek-a-book with him or kiss him under his chin :-)

Another new painting of mine.

Fresh after a bath :-)

I made a candle light dinner tonight when I got home from work.  Robert is usually at work when I get home from work.  We hardly get to have a nice homey dinner together because of it.  Then on weekends, we usually eat at other people's houses or go out.  I love cooking for him and to have a nice sit down dinner together. :-)It made me feel like such a wife!  I had a busy afternoon-  I worked, then went grocery shopping right after.  I came home and unloaded the groceries.  I put a pot of water on the stove to boil, meanwhile I washed all the dishes, changed clothes, got Kyle and gave him a bath.  Dressed Kyle, put him in his little chair while I set the table and finished making dinner.  After dinner, I fed Kyle, put him in his pj's b/c his eyelids were starting to get heavy, and put him to bed.  Phew!  I know this is normal for most moms/wives, but I am still getting used to it :-)

We've taken a ton of pictures in the past couple of days, so here they are!

Mommy and Kyle :-)
This as good a family picture as we can get!
Feeding Kyle at Red Robin!
Kyle happy while wearing his cholo outfit my mom bought him LOL
Smiley baby!

My newest painting!
My cousin Vanessa came over and put Kyle's face on a yearbook picture from the 1950's.  It's hilarious!
Tummy time!
Sitting on daddy's shoulders.
Having a moment.

I had Kyle sitting in his bouncy chair and suddenly I saw that Suzy was sitting on his lap while he was petting her!  We usually don't allow this, but it was so darn cute I had to snap this picture!

Tomorrow we'll be over at Debbie and Kit's house, which is seriously about a 5 minute walk from our house, for football and bbq.  I am so happy that Debbie, one of my best friends since 2nd grade, (22 years ago!), moved back to Half Moon Bay.  It's just how we thought it would be when we were little girls and we dreamed about hanging out together when we were grown up, with our husbands and kids... except in our dreams, we were next door neighbors.  It's the next best thing!

Love, us~

Labor Day hey day!

My parents had a Labor Day bbq yesterday and it was a fun day getting all together!

Kyle and I playing around in my parents' room.

Again, playing with mommy!

Sitting in the grass in his Bumbo chair... i love it!  He looks like a cute old man sitting in his favorite armchair :-)

Vanessa and Elena... so gorgeous!

Now that Kyle is bigger, we have started using the Baby Bjorn when we go for walks.  Here are Daddy and Kyle all set for a walk downtown :-)  Kyle's wearing a Ritz Carlton hat :-)

This is just a random picture of the antique furniture my mom gave me.  I LOVE it and it lets me display some of my favorite dishes :-)
I came home for lunch today, and this is what Kyle was doing.  I love how he takes command of the entire crib when he sleeps.
He doesn't sit up on his own yet, so I had to snap this picture quickly!  He was on his way down while I took this LOL

Talking :-)
